Donna Dennis: BLUE BRIDGE/red shift, in memory of her mother, is Dennis at her best: the scaled-down segment of a railway bridge, with girders, cables, and tracks vanishing at both ends into a dark void—plus a glowing red control room full of tangled tubing that’s the heart of the piece—is like a metaphor for life itself. It’s haunted by an audio element and, in the back gallery beyond the darkness, layered “sketches” for the work.
