Donna Dennis has a brilliant white structure in the show called “Station Hotel.” Located in the really overcrowded smaller room at the rear of the gallery, Dennis’ simulated tile façade may superficially resemble a lavatory wall, but she has achieved a startling transformation with this work, that reminds one of the hieratic grandeur of an ancient, sacred temple dedicated to the gods. A white fluorescent tube shines above the tall archway and two steps lead up to the entrance, where a more yellow, softer light sets up an air of quiet mystery inside the arched space that is just the right size to fit a standing human figure.
